WIN: Tickets to MAMIL (Remounted)

WIN: We have two double passes to Mark Hadlow’s MAMIL (Remounted) show on Saturday June 2, 2pm.

To enter go to our Facebook page Rise Up Christchurch from 8pm on Thursday, find the post and tag who you want to take and share the post.

Following a sell-out premiere season across New Zealand, Hadlow remounts for a final ride into Christchurch in the acclaimed one man show, MAMIL (middle-aged man in Lycra), in all its lurid lycra glory for ‘Le Tour d’Isaac’.

“Achingly funny and poignant, MAMIL Remounted explores the male midlife crisis, where the super bike and cycling culture reign supreme.  Bryan Cook (Mark Hadlow) is a property developer who has accumulated a small fortune building leaking homes. He’s a stressed out, self-medicating, self loathing arse, killing himself to increase his bank balance while decreasing his golf handicap. When things fall apart due to the GFC of 2007 he joins a men’s cycling group to relieve stress – and makes a few startling discoveries in various cracks and crevices.

Shining as the affable, yet uncomfortably relatable anti-hero in the one-man show, Hadlow commands the stage. One of NZ’s favourite actors, the role of Bryan is a perfect fit for Mark. Bringing his energetic presence and childlike enthusiasm to the character, he breathes life into the cleverly crafted monologues to delight even the most stoic of MAMIL-phobes.”

MAMIL, by Gregory Cooper, was lauded in rave reviews in its first outing, and returns to the stage for four shows only, from Thursday 31 May to Saturday 2 June at the Isaac Theatre Royal, Christchurch.
