Foodie talk with Nadia Lim

The best thing about being part of The Food Show is… the buzz, and the big smiles I get to see on people’s faces.

For the Christchurch show I’ve chosen to cook… Caribbean chicken n’ salsa and Mexican street corn both from Let’s Eat, and chocolate hot cross bun n’ butter pudding, because they’re all easy, full of flavour recipes that people will want to replicate at home.

I hope people leave the show thinking… Wow, Nadia’s recipes are amazing – I’m totally going to cook those recipes this weekend.’

The ultimate foodie destination for me is… probably Thailand. Overall it offers the most in terms of variety – everything there tastes good, as long as you can handle heat.

One thing I always get asked is… if I get sick of cooking. Which I do – if I’ve spent the whole day cooking, the last I want to do is make dinner.

People are always surprised to know… I hate the gym. It’s my most hated place. I would never, ever, ever go.

My guilty pleasure is… Burger Fuel – and Netflix on a Friday night.

I’m watching… Black Mirror, and I never miss Seven Days.

I’m reading… The To-Be List by Latesha Randall.

Whenever I come to Christchurch I can’t leave without… catching up friends and family.
