Elderly man dies a week after crash

A 95-year-old man has died a week after he was involved in a crash in Belfast.

His car collided with another at the intersection just after 4pm on October 6, and the man was taken to hospital as a precaution, a police spokeswoman said.

He had been in hospital since the accident and died early on Friday morning.

Police have closed off the intersection of Main North Rd and Dickeys Rd in order to carry out an investigation.

Dickeys Rd is closed off and there is no alternative route available, a Christchurch Transport Operations Centre spokesman said.
