New Brighton division one players feature heavily in Canterbury representative sides after the team claimed the plate final recently.

Fourteen of the squad have been selected for various representative teams in Canterbury.

Billy Harmon, Nathan Vella, Oli Jager and Feliti Kaitu’u have been included in the Canterbury Mitre 10 Cup squad for the 2017 campaign.

Reuben Spicer and Walter Huata made the Canterbury Metro side, while Lou Harmon and Henare Faithful have been selected for the Canterbury Maori side.

Second-five Kaleb Hunt-Wheeler and up and coming utility back Scott Allin, who is in his first year with the division one side after being brought up from the colts, have been included in the Canterbury under-20 side.

Josh Archer has made the under-19 Canterbury side; Boris van Bruchem and Nathaniel Bolton have been included in the under-18 Canterbury Metro team; and Marshall Hannah has made the under-18 Canterbury Cavaliers squad.

New Brighton club development officer Roddy Butt said it was a testament to a good, hard season played by the boys.
