Young girl sexually attacked in Barrington

A 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Barrington as she was walking home on Sunday night.

The girl was walking from the Barrington shopping centre with her sister on Simeon St at about 6.20pm when a man ran up behind her and groped her.

He then ran off.

She was unhurt in the attack and has spoken with police.

A police spokeswoman said she is being offered support while they make their inquires.

Last Friday police were called to Marshland Rd, near the Palms, after reports of a woman being sexually attacked.

Two men approached two woman and one of the men attempted to pull down the pants of one of the women.

Police said the attack in Barrington is not believed to be linked with the assault on Marshland Rd.

  1. Not unhurt. Not physically hurt. This is a psychological attack as well as physical, the girl would likely benefit from some counselling.
    It is naïve to think that all is fine because she is not physically hurt.
