Three men threatened a woman with a weapon and attempted to sexually assault her after they offered her a ride in Aranui on Saturday night.
The woman was approached by the men, who were not known to her, at about midnight near the intersection of Carters and Breezes Rds and was offered her a ride in the black Holden Commodore car they were in.
Soon after she entered the car, she was threatened with a weapon and an attempt was made to sexually assault her, police said.
The woman managed to fight off her attackers and fled from the vehicle.
She was left distressed, but not physically injured after the attack, police said.
The three men are described as being about 30-years-old, Maori/Polynesian and wearing black clothing.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or who may have seen that vehicle in the Aranui area on Saturday night to come forward.
It comes after a 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Barrington as she was walking home with her sister on Sunday.
The girl was walking from the Barrington shopping centre on Simeon St at about 6.20pm, when a man ran up behind her and groped her.
Two women were walking near The Palms at about 1.20am when they were approached by two men, one of whom attempted to pull down the pants of one of the women.
Police say the incidents are not linked.
Anyone with information about any of these attacks can phone 363 7400 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
